For at-home newborn and baby photography, we believe less is more. Our approach combines essential, hygienic props during the session with unlimited creative possibilities through professional post-production editing.
Basic Props We Use at Home
During a newborn shoot at your home, we bring only the essentials needed to create soft, beautiful portraits while keeping your baby comfortable and at ease. Our standard on-site kit includes:
- Soft wrapping cloths and swaddles
- Small baskets for gentle posing
- Plush fur rugs and textured fabrics
- A select few minor toys and simple posing accessories
These items are carefully chosen to support natural, cosy posing — not to overwhelm your baby with excessive styling or lengthy setup changes.
Comfort Comes First
A newborn feels most relaxed in a familiar, calm environment. By using only basic props at home, we keep the session short, soothing, and stress-free. Your baby can rest, feed, and settle naturally without being handled through multiple elaborate setups.
When a baby is comfortable, the photographs reflect that peace — sleepy curls, soft expressions, and those precious tiny details parents treasure forever.
Hygiene & Why We Avoid Multiple Setups
Hygiene is a top priority in every newborn session. Using fewer props means fewer surfaces, fewer changes, and a cleaner, more controlled environment for your little one.
Multiple themed setups at home are not ideal. Switching between several elaborate props and backdrops extends the session, increases handling, and raises hygiene concerns — as different fabrics, baskets, and accessories come into contact with your baby throughout the shoot.
Lengthy sessions with repeated setup changes also tend to leave babies tired and cranky. An unsettled baby cannot pose naturally, which affects both the experience and the quality of the final images. For these reasons, we intentionally keep our on-site prop use minimal, focused, and baby-friendly.

The stunning themed looks in our portfolio — dream décor backgrounds, creative styling, and artistic visual effects — are crafted during post-production editing, not by loading your home with heavy setups during the shoot.
After your session, our editing team applies the themes and styles you desire to your photographs. This approach gives you the best of both worlds:

You are always welcome to include meaningful personal items in your shoot — a favourite blanket, a special outfit, or a cherished soft toy. These touches add warmth and sentiment to your images while keeping the session personal and authentic.
